Love Palmtrees...

Even though I still don't feel 100% I have got some Design Team work which really can't wait anymore! So it's time to get busy with some digital kits. The first one I fell for was this collab by Kate Hadfield...

I just loved the colours in it. The greens, blues and pinks. That's what really caught my eye and made me know I had to work with it. :)

I have a LOT of photos from the Tenerife trip so I decided to use them even though the theme of the kit might suggest some other subjects for scrapping. In fact I often like to scrap something totally different to the obvious theme of a kit :)

The Flowers...

I had a question last week on my blog... Sorry it's taken me some time to reply. I'm still recovering from tonsilitis. I kinda pushed myself too far on Tenerife, taking lots of medication & trying to take part in as much as I could, even though I really should have been resting in bed to get well quicker. Oh well, it was worth it even though I'm still tired and coughing!

Anyway onto the question which was about "how did I make the flowers for this layout?"...

...and the answer is ---> I didn't. I agree that the flowers are amazing but it's a completely digital layout and the flowers are therefore digital. But great, eh?

This is the kit that the flowers are from:

The kit is called Spring Breeze Elements and it's by Amber Clegg. You can buy it here at the Lilypad. Hope that helps :)

Amazing Weekend...

Just got back from a 2 day trip to York. It was amazing!!! York is one of my favourite UK cities and the weather was like July weather. 24 degrees and sunshine all the time. :)

I'm so glad I had packed the right clothes and felt very sorry for the people walking around very hot in jeans & trainers and even jackets.

And what feels even better coming back from such a great weekend away? That there's still another 2 days left of this long weekend - yay! Doesn't seem to become as great weather today so far (very cloudy at the moment) but I'm just really pleased that the good weather hit at the right time for us :)

Heaven...

This is where I have been for the last week...

A most amazing week in Tenerife! Dad and me spent over 2 days trying to organise a trip for 12 people, with 2 babies and people travelling from 2 countries to the same hotel. It was quite a job to get it all to fit together. But what a trip it turned out to be!! :)))

None of us wanted to go home on the last day LOL! Everything was perfect... the weather, the apartments, the beach... Well everything but one thing... I had to see a doctor while I was there as I came down with a bad fever, cold and tonsillitis!! Isn't that just typical? So I spent most of the trip (being determined to take part in everything) very much on medication (and probably pushed myself a little too far). Still not well yet, but at least I'm recovering now...

Sun & Smiles...

Those are good days, eh? Days filled with sun & smiles :)

Anyway onto some digital scrapping done for the Lilypad Creative Team assignments...

[Supplies: Spring Breeze - Amber Clegg, Flutterbyes - CD Muckosky, Piccadilly - Gina Miller,
Splatteriffic 6 - Karah Fredricks, Daffodil - Sara Gleason (all from The Lilypad)]

The photos on this layout are from last summer. Taken at the amazing beach just by my parents' summer house in Sweden. My most favourite place to be for relaxing, in the whole world. You just "are" and lose track of the whole world and time around you. Really, most of the time you have to think REALLY hard to try and work out what day it really is LOL! :)

Love Cute Owl Stuff...

I had a few happy-coloured kits from the Lilypad to play with and was thinking about what I could scrap... Looking through the kits, my eyes fell on the kit with owls by CD Muckosky. So pretty! So what could I do...?

Owls. Owls? Oh yes ---> scrap my love for things with cute owls of course! One of my favourite shops is Paperchase (no surprise being a scrapbooker and loving pretty stationery I guess?!) and I got some seriously cute owl stuff from one of their shops a little while ago...

[Supplies: Hoot Suite - CD Muckosky, World Of Wonder - CD Muckosky, Mumbo Jumbo Alpha 3 - Karah Fredricks, Splatteriffic 5 - Karah Fredricks, Brighter Day Solids - Rachel Young, Crocus - Sara Gleason, So I Never Forget - Valerie Wibbens (all from The Lilypad)]

LOAD...

I have really, really enjoyed the layout a day challenge that I set myself. Most days it's been fine. Some days it's been rather hard to fit it into the day's schedule. Some days it would have been easier to skip. But I didn't and I'm very happy about that! I found it especially hard to get done on the weekends some time, but that's because I normally don't scrap at the weekends as I prefer to spend that time with Ross :)

Setting myself the LOAD challenge was actually a suggestion by Karen Grunberg. I'm taking her class called "Finding Your Way" at BPC at the moment and it's a really, really fun class. I'm so glad I signed up for it and I'm so happy that I'm working through the LOAD challenge even if it is though some days... :)

Happy Scrapping...

When Kate Hadfield released this kit at the Lilypad I knew straight away it was a "must have" for me...

I LOVE the colours of it! Happy, happy colours! Lots of greens and aquas teamed with some nice pinks and oranges. These are the colours that just make me smile so much!

The kit is kinda retro so it really fits retro photos perfectly. Something that I don't have so much of. Or certainly no photos that would really relate to these doodles. So I decided to do something different instead. Something I rarely do. Make a no-photo layout:

[Supplies: Child Of The 80s - Kate Hadfield, Coffee & Cupcakes - Kate Hadfield, Gina Miller, Movie Night - Kate Hadfield, Holly Designs, The Designer Collection Vol 1 - Heather Hess, Candy Shop - Sahlin Studio, Britt-ish Designs, Funky School Papers - Amber Clegg (all from The Lilypad)]

Scrapping Summer...

With the spring well on the way I can't help looking forward to the summer. Nice warm (though not too warm, I love warm days with a nice breeze) days with a blue sky and sunshine! Oh it's going to be great! :)

Until then I will keep the memories alive by scrapping some summer photos from last year...

I had lots of fun making this page as I managed to use a lot of little bits from open packets of stash and some scraps too. It's the kind of scrapping that really makes me happy. Using up some bits rather than opening new items :)

Getting Close...

[Supplies: Park Play - Kay Miller, Jady Day Studio (from A5D)]

I've had lots of fun playing with a new digital kit by Kay Miller called "Park Play". At first I wasn't sure what photos to scrap at all... until I spotted the squirrel in the kit...

Then I thought about the close up photos I managed to capture of a squirrel the other year and knew they were the perfect thing to scrap using this kit :)

Angry Birds Card...

I find male birthday cards SO hard to make! I mean, it's no problem if it's for little boys, but any older than that and what do you do?!? So tricky to think of what to put on a card!

Anyway, it's my Dad's birthday soon and I started to think about this a while ago (especially since I know I struggle to make male cards)... But I was stuck. As usual LOL! Until I thought about how he likes to play Angry Birds and could I maybe do a card featuring Angry Birds...? Oh yes! I drew the birds in black and then used my Copic markers to colour in the birds. I'm sure it will make him smile :)

(Note: "Grattis" = "Happy Birthday" in Swedish)

Edited to add: Rosemary - Thanks for your comment! :) No I'm sorry, I don't have a digital version of it. :(

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Today I'm totally rushed off my feet with crafting projects. I'm working on a big birthday card which will also be a present. A trip which I want info about and photos inside the card. Lots of text to gather, lots of photos to edit and resize. Lots of planning, measuring, double-checking, editing and printing. I'm not even sure I will have it finished tomorrow. We'll see...

I'm going to work on it as much as I possibly can, though the hunting and gathering of info & photos is taking a looooong time!

BYOC Time Again...

It's the first Friday of the month which means it's yet again time for a huge release of kits at the Lilypad ---> BYOC (Build Your Own Collab). Masses of different kits, all colour co-ordinated so you can put together your favourite mega kit yourself :)

My favourite 3 kits from this month's BYOC release are...

"No Place Like Gnome" by Kate Hadfield. If you're a frequent reader of my blog this should come as no surprise because 1) I love Kate's doodles and 2) it's cute!!

Another one of my favourites is the "Piccadilly" paper pack by Gina Miller. Gina makes the most amazing paper packs :)

Finally some great frames. I can naver get enough of frames, especially cluster ones. This is a great pack ---> "Stuck Together Big Blocks 3" by Karah Fredricks.

...and what did I do? Work with these fantastic kits of course :)

[Supplies: No Place Like Gnome - Kate Hadfield, My Desk Drawer - Amber Clegg. Pretty Lil Posies - Amber Clegg, Candyland Alpha - CD Muckosky, Piccadilly - Gina Miller, Stuck Together Big Blocks 3 - Karah Fredricks, Splatteriffic 6 - Karah Fredricks (all from The Lilypad)]
